Neil Strong, VP of Cafe Operations of Barnes & Noble, Inc. presents J.Elle with $5,000 and shares her winning short story and cookie recipe at a B&N location in southern California. The cookie recipe will be mass produced and sold in B&N stores nationwide during the Holiday 2019 season.

Despite its noise--the world is listening," said J.Elle, to an auditorium of over 70 teens on Saturday at the Canyon Crest Academy 8th Annual Youth Writing Conference. "Kids --ALL of them-- need to understand they are powerful." J.Elle's 45-minute talk covered tips for finding their voice, developing vividly real characters, and being persistent.
